Mick – “I didn’t like a few tunes to be honest but there is a few belters for me. Not a fan of Free the Marijuana, I thought it didn’t fit in at all. Scarity Dan was a bit hit or miss too. All These Things felt a little like a poor man’s Underworld.
All that being said, I had heard Ipop somewhere before and found in quite funky. The last three songs The Crab, Spacehopper and Donkey Jaw were my favourites. I think musically I prefer little heavier electronic so that’s why I liked these the most.
Donkey Jaw especially, I found brilliant. The lyrics are hilarious, albeit sounding like the The Rubberbandits:
“The next five words indicate the early onset of chemical retardation: I’m getting nothin’ off that. I’m getting nothin’ off that. I’m getting nothin’ off that. I’m getting nothin’ off that. Hang on…”.
Even the bit about wanking in the k hole in the forest at passers by – very funny.
Overall found it okay, more not so great than great for me but defo found a few I will go back to for sure. Good shout Sol.”

Spud – “Ipop: Reminds me of the kinda song we might have heard at a foam party on our teenage holidays in Spain/Greece. Is that a good or bad thing? Not really sure.
Spacehopper: Thought this one was ok. Got a Daft Punk vibe off it (Da Funk).
Game Over: Thought I was at Quasar (laser tag) listening to this!
Scarity Dan: Not bad, had a Super Styling by Groove Armada feel.
All These Things: Really didn’t like this one, mainly because of the singing.
Overall I’m kinda confused about King Kong Company. I don’t think I’d listen to them again.”

Molly – “I’m sorry – I didn’t like this one. Bit out of my comfort zone. Spacehopper is the only tune I really liked. Strong effort but wrong for me.”

E.P. – “I liked parts of it Sol. Loved the opening two songs. It kind of had a bit of a slow reggae feel at some points which I didn’t like. Also wasn’t a fan of yer man’s accent. That Donkey Jaw sounded a bit like a piss take. Like Mick though, loved the lyrics. I’d give it an ok rating, but wouldn’t be one I’d rush back to listen to.”
