INTRO (from Wiki)

Pale Green Ghosts is the second solo album by former The Czars frontman John Grant, released on March 11, 2013 on the Bella Union label. Pale Green Ghosts was recorded in Reykjavík, Iceland with Icelandic electronic musician Birgir Þórarinsson (a.k.a. Biggi Veira) of electro-pop group Gus Gus, and also features a range of local musicians on the album as well as Sinéad O’Connor singing backing vocals.
The title refers to the Russian olive trees that stand along the I-25 highway near Grant’s family home in the small town of Parker, Colorado.

REVIEWS

E.P. – “Some of the music is good, but jaysis he goes on about breaking up with yer man a lot, like every song… it’s a bit much.”

Sol – “Enjoyed this Mick, doubt it’s an album I’d put on start to finish too many times, more like just go straight to the songs that stood out. I was expecting some of the songs to just kick off but they stayed the same, like Why Don’t You Love Me Anymore, felt that should have kicked into a trance like song!
I thought the opening song was setting the tone for the album, really liked that song, the beat through it was class but then the poor guy is distraught and slowed it down a bit.
I’d imagine he is very funny live, some of the lyrics are great, eg. GMF.
Favourite song is between Sensitive New Age Guy and Pale Green Ghosts. All in all really glad I got listening to him, must give his other stuff a listen to.”

Spud – “Never heard of John Grant or any of the songs before, but since listening to the album have heard it on the radio twice.
When the intro to the first song started I thought ‘I’m not gonna like this’. Luckily, the album got better from there.
I was glad of the change between the more electronic songs to the more mellow, which reminded me of the Divine Comedy.
Didn’t notice Sinéad O’Connor on the three songs she features so I was kinda expecting more there.
Favourite songs are Black Belt, GMF and I Hate This Town.”

Molly – “I’m a bit like Spud on this one. The mellow songs are a bit too mellow for me although I did like the change of tempo. I’ll have to give it another few listens before I give it the seal of approval.”
