GRAFFITI ON THE TRAIN by STEREOPHONICS

INTRO (from Wiki)

Graffiti on the Train is the eighth studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. Produced by the group’s lead-singer and guitarist Kelly Jones and Jim Lowe, it was released on 4 March 2013 on their own Stylus Records. It was the first Stereophonics album since Keep Calm and Carry On (2009), marking the first time they had not released a record within two years. It was intended for an October 2012 release date and took nearly two years to complete. This is the last record to feature drummer Javier Weyler, who was officially replaced by Jamie Morrison on 24 September 2012. The album’s earliest idea spawned when children were running across the singer’s rooftop in order to access the trains and spray paint graffiti on one of them.

REVIEWS

Mick – “I actually really enjoyed listening to this. I haven’t listened to the Phonics in ages and and even though I defo don’t think it’s their best by far, I enjoyed it.
Couple of tracks I found were a little album filler types, like Roll the Dice and Been Caught Cheating were a little disappointing.
I liked the opener We Share the Same Sun – very catchy and showcases Kelly’s voice great. Indian Summer was the only track I knew and was good too. Violins and Tambourines was a really good tune, a real builder.
Think my favourite track was Catacomb, it reminded me most of older Phonics, big guitar at times, was really good.
Really enjoyed it without loving it, be down the list of my favourites I think.”

E.P. – “I do like this album a lot. Really think the opening 3 songs are great. And I just love violins! Very good choice Sol.”

Molly – “I think this was one of the first albums I bought on a phone…not a physical album. Haven’t listened to it in a while. Was good to listen again.
Violins and Tambourines is my fav tune but Graffiti on the Train and Indian Summer are close seconds. Third is We Share the Same Sun. I think this was to be developed into a movie… or something along those lines.”

Spud – “I liked the album too. I thought the first 4 songs were good but actually didn’t like Catacomb. The title track probably stuck in my head the most but I don’t think I’ll remember much from the album in years to come. It didn’t have any bangers like their earlier albums were teeming with.
If you’re a Phonics fan, you’ll enjoy it but if you don’t like them, you won’t be convinced by this I reckon.”
