REVIEWS
E.P. – “Biffy are deadly. But it was a deluxe album on Spotify with 20 tracks! I did enjoy it a lot though. Not quite as much as Only Revolutions, but still great. Stand out songs for me were Sounds Like Balloons, Biblical, The Thaw, Stingin’ Belle, Modern Magic Formula and Accident Without Emergency. Very good listen overall.”
Mick – “I seem to have developed a bit of a love/hate thing with Biffy Clyro. I didn’t dislike anything on the album but 20 tracks merged into one for me a little. I love them when I hear a track or two but the more I hear, the more alike they sound.
Like E.P., I preferred Only Revolutions but maybe that was cause it was shorter.
Stand out songs on this for me were Little Hospitals – loved the rhythm throughout. Really liked Stingin’ Belle, especially the pipes towards the end. Defo my favourite was Biblical – a real builder of a tune.
It’s a strange one – I didn’t dislike anything but the album didn’t grab me massively.”
Spud – “Mick basically said what we discussed in the pub yesterday. I probably couldn’t pick a favourite song though because I can’t distinguish most of them from each other, although I gave this album less airtime this week. If someone wanted to turn the album on at work or while having beers or whatever, I wouldn’t object but I wouldn’t suggest it either. Just meh.”
Sol – “I’m pretty much the same, enjoyed listening to the album, parts of it were quality but I found them sounding the same as the album went on. I can’t put my finger on it as they have everything that I like in a band/music, but something just didn’t click for me that made me say ‘Wow’.
I liked the metal and pipes in Stingin’ Belle, not sure that I’ve heard that combination before. Standouts for me were Biblical and Opposite.”
