PLAY by MOBY

INTRO (from Wiki)

Play is the fifth studio album by American electronica musician Moby. It was released on May 17, 1999 by Mute and V2 Records. Recording of the album began in mid-1997, following the release of his fourth album, Animal Rights (1996), which deviated from Moby’s electronica style; his goal for Play was to return to this style of music. Originally intended to be his final record, the recording of the album took place at Moby’s home studio in Manhattan, New York.

REVIEWS

E.P. – “Great shout on the album. All over the place in terms of style/genres – loved it. Too many good songs to pick from, I do like Porcelain and Why Does My Heart Feel so Bad though.
Only complaint would be some filler stuff on there probably not needed. Made it longer than needed. Great choice overall though.”

Molly – “I was never a big fan of Moby. I didn’t mind his music if it was on so never really gave him a chance when I was younger . But have to say I enjoyed this week.
Best song is defo Porcelain, followed by Bodyrock. Also liked Guitar Flute & String.”

Spud – “Agree with the comments so far. I actually love the first 8 tracks, but in the second half of the album I really only like Run On. Favourite song is probably the opener, Honey.”

Sol – “I’ve pretty much the same thoughts as E.P. Really enjoyed the first half, first few in particular.
Favourite song was Why Does My Heart Feel so Bad. Is it just he sounds like Robbie Williams at times or did he do vocals on some songs on the album (South Side)? Machete was bit lost amongst the others, not a bad one but so didn’t fit after Natural Blues. Really enjoyed Everloving too, had a bit of a Radiohead vibe to it.
Overall really enjoyed most of the album and will be going through his other stuff also.”
