REVIEWS

Mick – “They reminded me of Friendly Fires a lot I must say. Thought I wasn’t gonna be very taken by the album at first, none of the first 5 songs grabbed me at all, maybe Ho Chi Minh a little bit.
But from Watchman I really liked it, probably my favourite on the album, sweet beat the whole way through it. Constancy was equally good and Red Oak was great too. I really liked the change in tempo of Love Is A Dream too, very different song compared to the rest of the album but a good one.
Wasn’t made on the album until the last 4 songs and they kinda saved it being a bust for me. Defo keep track of them though, nice new band to listen to. Cheers Spud.”

Molly – “Red Oak is a good tune – after two listens it’s the one that stood out the most when I think back. Have to admit I am not too familiar with them but looking over their bio they seem to have been on the go a while. I will have to go digging into their back catalogue.”

E.P. – “I also only listened to it twice – didn’t really grab me too much. Liked Ho Chi Minh as an opener, but not much after that. Only a meh for me.”

Sol – “I agree with the general consensus for this album, however, I actually liked the first three songs and from the get go, I had a feeling I’d like these guys. As mentioned though, the middle of the album really lets it down, which means ya sorta switch off and dismiss them but they do get their shit together for the last four, the best four on the album.
My favourite song is Constancy. They definitely have enough on this for me to take note of them and keep an eye out for them. Good shout Spud, doubt I would have come across them. I’d imagine they’d be a good live band. They remind me of someone but I can’t place it.”
